Best way to clean Solar Panels

Keeping your solar panels clean is one of the simplest ways to protect their performance and return on investment. Dust, pollen, bird droppings, and pollution can all reduce how much sunlight reaches the cells, quietly lowering energy output over time.

Before we get into cleaning we have to think about saftey first, ladder should be securely attached the gutters when climbing up onto roofs, harnesses if the roof you are working on is not flat (This will be a later blog post), wearing non-slip shoes, being aware of how to walk on tiles as not to break them, and knowing that wet steel is extremely slippery (Wet steel, no deal). Once all the safety has been sorted you need the right tools. This cant be said enough but no high pressure cleaners spraying directly onto the panels, this will break their seals and water will get in and wreck them. Harsh cleaning agents, like bleach, is also not recommended as the panels, thou tough to withstand the environment, isn’t disigned to withstand chemicals, it is best to clean with a mild ditergent and luke warm water in a bucket. Filtered or even ionised water is best, as there are no other contaminates in the water that will leave build up on the panels after. We also advice to use a microfibre cloth after to avoid streaks on the panels.

We hope this helps and that your solar panels shine
